If you know that you will be moving soon, you will want to begin planning right away. The sooner you plan and organize the move, then the easier it is going to be once moving day arrives. There are plenty of tips and resources out there to help you with your moving endeavor, but here are a few that you just may not have run across just yet:

  1. Consolidate Your Cleaning Supplies: Your cabinet of cleaning supplies should be consolidated, which means getting rid of the stuff that's down to its last few drops and using up what you can now before moving day arrives. If you have to clean before you move out of your old place, then be sure to set those materials aside and begin cleaning now so that you can solely focus on moving your things out on the actual moving day. You don't want to have to be worried about cleaning everything as you are moving things out.
  2. Use Your Luggage: All luggage that you have, including duffle bags and backpacks, should be used accordingly. The best thing to do is to pack your luggage with things that you will potentially need as soon as you move into your new home, such as some of your favorite clothing items that you know you will wear, jewelry, hair accessories, toiletries, and more.
  3. Ensure Valuables are Safe: For all valuables, you want to be sure that they are kept safe in the case of damage or loss. Be sure that you check with your homeowners insurance company to see what they will cover and, if needed, purchase any additional insurance that you may need. In the case of a claim, it is also important that you have all your paperwork put together, such as photos of your valuables, receipts, and appraisals, to ensure that you are fully compensated for what is fair.
  4. Create Personal Boxes: Each member of the family should have their own personal box that is either color coded or marked in large lettering with their name. These boxes will be a place they can store the things they need when they first arrive to the new home, such as pens, paper, keys, address books, and more. This will allow each family member to easily be able to get settled when they first arrive to the new home without having to scrounge through box after box.

With these four moving tips combined with all others you may have found or used in the past, you can be sure that your move goes as smoothly as possible. For more tips, contact a company like Wheaton World Wide Moving.
